Jackfruit Biryani

Ingredients:

  • Wakao Jackfruit
  • 50gms – Onion
  • 20gms – Ginger garlic Paste

  • 5gms – Turmeric powder

  • 60gms – Red chili powder

  • 8gms – Garam masala

  • 20gms – Curd

  • 8gms – Mint

  • 10gms – Green Chili

  • 20gms – Ghee

  • 1no.- Lemon

  • 10gms – Salt

  • 25ml – Oil (For sautéing)

  • 2gms – Green cardamom

  • 0.2gms – Mace

  • 70gms – Basmati Rice

Method:

  • Peel and finely slice onion, cube wakao jackfruit, slit green chilies and makebiryani masala powder using cardamom and mace after roasting.
  • Fry 50 gms of onions till golden brown and crispy.
  • Saute the onions on a skillet till golden brown, then add ginger garlic paste and cook till fragrant.
  • Add the powder masalas and saute till cooked, add the jackfruit cubes and fry well.
  • Add beaten curd, chopped mint leaves, slit green chili and ghee to the pan.
  • Season with salt and lemon juice. Set aside the biryani masala with jackfruit cubes.

Serve hot or cold and relish when in season.
